Along with the advancement of the society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that whether food and drink should be permitted on subway. There is a long running controversial and heated debate, with different people holding different attitudes.

When it comes to the allowance, some people are in favor of that for food and drink do no harm to other passengers and it is every citizen's right. Eating and drinking do convenient some people for considering their age, long distance and demand for work. However, some others argue that we shouldn't, who maintain that the two key disadvantages of this issue, which are the litter and the smell, do inconvenience to other citizens and bad impression for foreign visitors.Meanwhile,the smell may make other passengers feel sick.

Personally, I stand on the side of the latter opinion. Firstly, subway is closed, public and crowed space. When you are eating or drinking in such poky room, you may smudge your neighbor's clothes, which can be troublesome. Secondly, eating in the subway is not civilized for which we should establish a clean and healthy environment for visitors as we are the models of the country. Last but not least, when we are on the metro,that the first thing comes to our mind is not to accommodate ourselves but to consider for the sake of the majority. It's of importance to facilitate others. In one word, I believe that we should not eat or drink on the subway.
