Yesterday, when I scanned the Weibo, I saw someone said that she was depressed because she failed the interview of the student union while all her roommates passed. Many people said it was meaningless to join the student union. Because she can not learn as much as she wanted before but just to do some boring work such as attending unimportant meetings, helping decorate a party's room and even carrying desks. She will be always unreasonably busy with all kinds of small things so she has no time to do her own things. On the contrary, others said she could make many new friends by joining student union and get familiar with her teachers who can provide her more information. And it can also exercise her ability.

In my view, the freshmen have no need to feel sad for failing to enter the student union. A failure can not define one's ability. And it is not necessary to join the student union. Many people stay in student union for only one year. They find that they do not learn useful things and make a mess of their study and life.So I think it's wise to drop out of the student union if you feel tired and enrich yourself by doing other things, such as reading and exercising. On the other hand, if you really want to join it, I hope you could treat it seriously and stick to it. Until the second year can you become one leader of the student union and doing high-grade things. All in all, we should treat the student union rationally.
