According to the dictionary, introspection is the examining of your own thought, idea, and feelings.
Many people live busy lives and are disturbed by endless trifles, complaining that life is so hard and boring. However, few of them introspect themselves, and find the specific reasons of their failure and success, which will likely help them get rid of the state of being vast and hazy.
In order to live a good life, we should know why we need introspection.
Firstly, people are easily forgetting their original dreams and hopes during the long process of chasing. Then if you can often spend some time reflecting, you will bear it in mind and do not lose your way.
Second, we can find our shortcomings and mistakes by introspecting and thus we can play to our strengths and correct our mistakes.
Third, we are tend to have negative moods when we meet failures and are jealous of others' success. By analysing our failures, we can see our future way clearly and will not be controlled by the bad mood.
Fourth, our asking ourselves whether we have reached our goals can make us more self-controlled. Imagine that before playing your favourite computer game, you ask yourself whether you have finished your homework. I think most people will choose to do homework first if they have this kind of worry.
As Socrates said, the unexamined life is not worth living. It's high time that we introspected for a better life.
