No input, no output

Hot 6944 views. 2017-10-21 00:27

Just as my title suggests, no input, no output, which is adapted from the commonplace saying "No pain, no gain". In reality, I recently do have such feelings that my oral English is very bad, especially when I was told that I had to introduce myself in English in a Marathon volunteer interview.

At that time, my mind had gone blank and I had no idea how to convey my ideas. Also, I was so nervous that I behaved awfully as if I were not a sophomore majoring in English. What's more, I decided to do some voluntary work on impulse and I was desperate to be a volunteer- that's all I wished.

In my mind, from time to time, we do something for no reason. In my case, I am a person who is easily fascinated by something novel and something full of challenges. Had I practiced my spoken English every day, I wouldn't have been at sea on account of the proverb that practice makes perfect.

The same goes for English writing. Take our weekly free writing for instance. Firstly, I am not a moviegoer, so I write no reviews for films.Secondly, I rarely read books. Therefore, I do not write book reviews.Additionally, my life is so ordinary that I cannot find any highlight. What I know is that everyday is like yesterday, not tomorrow. Nothing special will happen and my life just goes on and on, dull and dreary.

As far as I am concerned, in order to be expert at something, such as playing the guitar and photographing, I need to spare no efforts to have a good command of what it is, learn from others and improve myself aesthetically to have an eye for great work. No input, no output. Input and output are opposite but cause-and-effect. In the process of learning, there is no doubt that we need to get acquainted with them and then make the most of them. Only in this way can we become proficient in what we want by degrees.

I agree with you, no pain, no gain. In order to get what you want, you must make the effort as hard as you can. But mean while, it's said that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy , so it's advisable to have a rest regularly.
