Hot 6
On April 30th, I did a part-time job as a photography assistant to a senior student who has carved out a career in the photography and owned a studio called June STU. He had to take wedding photographs for a couple who have graduated. Since I hadn't taken photos for a couple, I decided to seize the opportunity to observe how an excellent photographer took photos.
On that morning, I got up early so that I wouldn't miss the call from the senior because he had forgotten to inform me of the arranged time. At 8.08 A.M, finally, I got the call. After hanging up, I finished my breakfast quickly, ran down stairs and walked there. Although I hadn't been there before, I still found the way to the studio.
It was the first time I had met Liu Joy Hoo. Just as an old saying goes, to know a man by repute is not as good as meeting him face to face. Not surprisingly, Liu was very kind and warm. He pointed at the meat buns on the table and asked if I had eaten breakfast. Waiting followed greeting.
They were all in the dressing room and I sat alone in the studio waiting the bride's makeup was put on. It was really a long time and I almost lost my patience. When we finally got ready, my battery was lower than 20%, which meant that I couldn't play on my phone the whole day.
Before we got down the stairs, Liu asked to run an errand to buy a lemon for him and he would transfer the money to me later. Accordingly, I ran to a fruit shop but lemons there are sold in two. I knew lemons were bought as props, and, apparently, one was not enough. In light of the facts, I selected better preserved lemons and asked the boss to cut them in half. The boss reminded me once and again that the lemons must be eaten up today. I just smiled, explaining that they were not for eating.
At 10.43 A.M., we headed with all the facilities and props such as cameras, flash lights, bridal veils and hats for the portal of our campus, the first choice for many couples. After that, we went to the forests. Then we went to the dormitories where roses were in bloom. The weather was stuffy and all of us were burnt out. At 2.30 P.M., we went back to the studio and had a takeaway which the couple ordered. I had to say that they were really kind. At 3.30 P.M., we set off to the old school gate and my phone had powered off. Then we went to the top of Mingde Building and chose a classroom to take photos of campus style. Before that, I helped the bride change clothes in the washroom for wedding dresses were difficult to change alone.
It was an extremely exhausting day. To my surprise, my ankles were tanned. Besides, some facilities were too heavy that Liu had to carry them himself. I felt sorry about this because this was what I should do. Thanks to this experiecne, I learned that the job of photographer was not easy, but I had faith in myself.
