A few months ago, I saw a movie, called The Shape of Water. Guillermo del Toro’s escapist fantasy-romance The Shape of Water told a story of a young woman’s love for a captured sea creature. This movie was really a visual feast for every audience. Besides, it had arresting emotional tendency and mirrored several social issues.

First of all, I want to talk about the virtuous side of this movie. Good people included a dumb woman, a black woman, a gay painter and a Russia emissary scientist. These people represented good characteristics of human beings. They were all from the bottom of this society so their power was limited. Despite this, they succeeded in saving the creature from the laboratory by working together. These people were also on behalf of the most typical discriminations in American society.
          Then, let's talk about the evil side of this movie. The number one villain in this movie was an agent, who was in control in the laboratory. He was cruel, violent and selfish. He always used his power to abuse the creature and finally he decided to kill it. He was arrogant but at the end of the movie he failed and died. He represented the 'white supremacy' opinion in America. 
 

Many people who have seen this movie would say that it was just a beautiful romantic film. However, it combined loads of factors such as black people, homosexuality and environmental protection. It absolutely deserves those Oscar awards.
