Hanfu Movement

Hot 7994 views. 2018-5-6 16:05

Last month, the Day of China's Hanfu jointly launched by the Communist Youth League of China and Bilibili has put a spotlight on the clothing again. Hanfu, as Han people's traditional clothing which can date back to the period of Yellow Emperor has been forgotten since the Qing dynasty enacted laws to command Han people to take off Hanfu. On account of the prohibition, Hanfu handed down from Han generations over several thousand years has thoroughly disappeared.

During the span of 200-odd years, Hanfu has buried in the long river of history. Han people could not wear Hanfu at that time, otherwise they would be penalized. Nevertheless, the phenomenon commenced to change in 2003. In the year, supporters of Hanfu have been alerted to the importance of revivalism and launched the first-time movement. Nowadays, as more people propagandize Hanfu, including overseas citizens with Chinese lineage, especially Malaysian Chinese, the clothing has arrested an increasing number of Han people's attention.

However, there are still many Chinese who don't learn about the traditional clothing. Much to my sorrow, when Han people in Hanfu walk in the street as a kind of routine clothing, some people will slash those who wear Hanfu in that they cannot distinguish our Hanfu from Japanese kimono or Korean hanbok, which in fact is influenced by our clothing.

I like Hanfu so much so that I want to lose weight in order to wear Hanfu. And I'm making my efforts to achieve my goals. However, there are much more people paying their attention to Hanfu, esp. the young in our generation. I think Hanfu is handsome. Thus, don't worry, people will re-inspire their enthusiasm to the Hanfu and put their attention to the importance of Chinese Culture.

We can see some pictures in our political books in which our every nation wore its own traditional clothing, but the representative of Han people was ony in a T-shirt. The situation truly signifies the necessity of Hanfu renaissance.

Hanfu is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and influenced the traditional clothes in east Asian countries like Japan. The regretful thing is that Hanfu didn't become a really traditional clothes in China as kimono in Japan.

It's just a way to dress, you have the right to choose what you wear just as you can choose what you eat for lunch.
