In Mizhi, Shanxi Province the other day, nineteen students were attacked on their way home, which led to seven dead and twelve injured. The suspect, as being reported, seemed to suffer seriously from psychological illness which resulted from being bullied at junior high school.
Therefore, for the belief that it was the illness rather than the man that caused the tragedy, some people argued that he should not be to blame. Personally, on the contrary, I think that it is definitely the man's fault to break up nineteen families, but meanwhile dangers of school bullying cannot be ignored. It's time to pay more attention to the issue and ways to solve it.
To begin with, schools and teachers should take the responsibility to inform students of the severity of this issue. Being fiercely competitive and eager to showing themselves, some students may consider bullying as a method of showing power and are even proud of that. To change the thought, teachers are advised to dedicate time to discussions with them to make them realize that only the weak will show his own power by abuse a weaker person. Also, it is necessary for teachers to observe carefully whether there are students being isolated. If so, care more about them and give them a hand to get out of the down times. Besides, to show its zero-tolerance attitude toward bullying, schools can make rules to make students clear that anyone who bullies other students will be seriously punished.
In conclusion, as bullying happen so commonly, it is high time that schools and teachers attach the greatest importance to it. After all, as for students who have been bullied and had some psychological problems, to ask psychologists for help admits of no delay.
