Our family's old house was not so big but it is unique to me. We lived in a large quadrangle with several families. If you entered in the bright, cheerful space, at the first sight, you would notice the wall was decorated with four Chinese paintings of plum of blossom, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum, which was relevant to the Chinese traditional theme. In the middle of the floor, there was a big red table and three benches to match. Four bedrooms are on the either sides of the hall, witnessing my father's endeavor and growth.

Behind the hall we had a beautiful yard. Half of the yard was used to plant different seasonal vegetables and varieties of flowers. On the left corner of the yard stood three species of fruit trees, bearing different fruits at the different seasons of a year. In the summer, instead of just playing mobile phone at home, what we are used to it today, children played with their friends in the quadrangle, fulling of joy and laughter.

Even though people were poor at that time, they lived fully and seemed to be content with the life.
