Too Tired To Be Young

Hot 6988 views. 2018-5-26 20:26

It was a hot summer day, and even now I still remember the smell of sweat. The weather had been terribly hot recently. The narrow space on the bus forced the passengers to crowd together. At this time, I was very glad to have a seat in such a bad environment. But the strange smell from the crowd still bothered me.

After a while, an old man and woman got on the bus with big shopping bags in hand. They pushed their way through the crowd and into the middle of the bus. I noticed the old man glancing at the young man sitting beside him, then he put the bag in his hand at the young man's feet. In my opinion, this behavior is full of aggression. It's just like saying, "this is my seat, shouldn't you get off?"The young man looked so tired. The old man seemed a little angry to see that the man didn't respond. He turned away and spoke sarcastically to the old woman."Nowadays, young people have no love at all. The traditional virtue of respecting the old and loving the young have been forgotten! What a pity!" The old woman took the words at once. "Yes, they don't know to give their seats to the old on the bus now. Who knows the reason?" They spoke very loudly, as if on purpose.I frowned and withdrew my desire to give up my seat. The voice was so loud that it did not seem that you were tired at all, and since you were happy to stand there and chatter, do as you please. I thought. And, from beginning to end, no one offered them a seat.

This incident leaves me in deep thought. Has the so-called virtue we have been pursuing changed? That young man may be too tired to give up his seat. Why did the old think like that? I have to wonder if the bad guys are getting old.Nowadays, young people not only deal with the pressure of work and life, but also constantly accept the negative energy of the older generation.

I couldn't agree with you more!! It's not a matter of age at all! Now there are many young people who need seats more than older people. They work hard all day. Aren't they tired? Respecting the old and loving the young is our traditional virtue, but it should depend on occasion and situation.

After these kind of deeds happen frequently at these days, I may choose to stand up without hesitation. I totally agree with you that the highlighted virtue is not suitable every situation, every moment, people gets tired sometimes and this so-called great action is a personal chioce. Anyway, I now afraid to meet the elderly in a bus.

It is true that young people are always criticized just because they are too tired to give up a seat. The young should respect the old, but that does not mean the old can take youngsters' kind behavior for granted. On the contrary, the old and the young should help and respect each other.

I am very sympathetic to your blog, because I have been through the similar things before. It is not a matter of age exactly, but character of person. Traditional virtues not only bind young people, but also apply to old people.

Yes, I think it depends on thr special situation. Today's young people are also stressed and have little time to rest. It would be a bit too much to ask them for their seat.

We didn't mean to offend them. I just want them to understand us when we're really tired. We advocate giving seats to old people but that doesn't mean moral kidnapping.

Yes, the old and the young should understand and respect each other. Life is hard, and it would be miserable if people don't forgive each other.

Yes, the elderly belong to the disadvantaged group, and we should give them enough care. But that doesn't mean they have absolute privileges.

Yes, we are not only under the pressure of life, but also under the scrutiny of our elders. The factor of age sometimes causes us to be forced to accept blame that should not be ours.
