There seems to be less reader in this English Blog Web than before, though I still use it as a way to record my mind as there is no other where to express.
Today I was scolded on being late to the surgery room. It was said "As a resident doctor, you should take company with your patient the moment they were on the way downstairs to the surgery room". If you are a patient you make take this as granted, because you never want to be surrounded with unknown old worker who only responsible for the "transportation"------a narrow bed with dirty quilt, and than leave you on the busy but cold waiting room and followed by a long unknown waiting time.
However, the truth is, your resident doctor is in there twenties, do not have any salary but has more work than formal doctor, and is called a "student" by the hospital so they do not have doctor registered license. But they are the one you face most in the ward, because you may never see your attending doctor(主治医师)until your were anaesthetic. And they have about 5 or more patients at the same time to take care of, do not allow for any ignore.
So, tell me, you have an new emergent patient dangerous waiting for surgery (you should prepare her for that), and you have another arranged surgery waiting in the surgery room who required your care.
And the nurse and doctors for later surgery are angry for You Were Not Here!
And, it is actually your noon break time and you are already running for these two patients for about one hour.
And, the other doctor are standing behind you in the surgery room with your patient still awake, scolding in high voice for your were late and your are guity.
And your direct boss in your face who actually responsible for your patient ask you:" Why didn't you find someone else to take care of your patient instead?"
To make a conclusion, It is my fault to care too much on my patient, and the important thing for my career as a doctor is to avoid making nurse and other doctors being angry instead of trying my best to make all my patient alive.
The end. Never, never try to ask your child to be a doctor.
