Chapter 1  Section 1 G

Lawrence Kelly was one of those kids who grew up understanding the cruelty of the world. In his adolescence, he constantly doubted the true nature of humanity. He wondered what was the man thinking when he killed his parents; he sliced their throats with intentional inaccuracy, they struggled to breath through their blood-filled windpipe for minutes until they couldn’t.

He remembered the man’s face, scattered with stubble, a pair of grey eyes, emotionless. He was nine year old when he opened his apartment door, just came from a football game. The first thing he saw were his parents’ bodies, lied lifelessly in a pile of blood. His young sister sat in the middle, crying. Then he saw the man walked out of the kitchen, cleaning a bloody knife. He only had seconds before he picked up his sister and fled.

The man didn’t follow, like he knew Lawrence could done no damage.

He ran and ran until he couldn’t, then he met a woman. Brown haired and hazel eyed, she wore a set of navy suit that day, hair twisted into a tight bun on the back of her head. She was an undeniably beautiful woman, yet equally dangerous.

“To get your revenge, you need strength. We can give you that. We can give you everything you ever want, a shelter for your sister... we can find her a school, a girl her age need the proper education.” She offered, listed everything Lawrence then wanted.

“What do I need to do in return?” He asked in cautious.

“Protect and Serve.” Magda Morris smiled brightly.

Lawrence Kelly later found out she was as vicious as he thought. She led a team of teenagers and children, homeless, helpless and talented. They came willingly, each pertained a dream of independence and accomplishment. They were trained to be secret agents.

They had no military record, most of them were presumed dead. They were young, shapeable. Each as talented as another, if not more. In many years, Lawrence trained and served. He fought in war, under-covered in gangs and assassinated terrorists.

   And then... what?

   What?

Lawrence Kelly didn’t remember. He tried to, everything is a blur. He recalled screaming, gun shoots and bodies. He remembered how people he knew all those years were slaughtered.

“This is the only way.” He heard the girl whispering.

He knew exactly who she was.

Somehow he couldn’t move, his body stiff, his mind broken. He struggled to open his eyes.

“Hello, Kelly.” He saw the whispering girl.

   “Hi, G.” He signed.
