All the horses were tethered in a stable. Sometimes the children would touch the horses. The horses had large nostrils and large, dark eyes. They had long lashes and they kept silent. Sometimes the children picked hay and fed them. Sometimes they munched carrots. Carrots were their favorite food. It was hard and sweet, and they chewed the carrots with large, even teeth. Sometimes they ate juicy cucumbers but it seemed that they did not like cucumbers very much. They would spit out some juice after chewing.

The horses had different dispositions. One day I saw a tall, naughty horse at the stable. It was always restless, not keeping still and quiet for a moment. It whinyed, raised its hooves or kicked on the wooden fence. We laughed, but it seemed that it grew bored and impatient. It raised its hind hooves and kicked at a pony standing quietly nearby.

We all grew annoyed, laying blame on the bad horse. It bulleyed others! The children scolded the big horse and consoled the pony in soft tone. The pony winked and dodged from the big horse. The pony would stand quietly in the stable all day long. The ponies look lovely. They have long, thick furs and dark, moist eyes. The large horses had slender legs and they were trained strictly.
