There is an indispensable prerequisite in self-improvement—to make out your true self. That self should be complete—including both the beautiful and kind “me”, as well as the “me” who now and then allows evil thoughts, and is ugly in soul. Just like a real and complete small flower, when it blooms with brilliance, must also have decay as it withers; that real and complete moon, when having a bright side, would also expose a dark side. Every “me” is the same. If there is no “dark side” of ourselves, why do we need self-improvement? If we do not have the weakness of our own personality, where should we start and pursue personality development? A man’s innate talent and extraordinary characteristics come from unremitting “struggle with one’s own demons” throughout one’s own life.
