Many of us would tell inwardly “white lies”, deliberately avoid or ignore our personality weaknesses in order to protect our self-esteem, and cover any of the moments when we are ugly with a “fig leaf” in order to “make it out of sight”, as if what we cannot see really does not exist. We take for granted that it is being sincere and kind towards ourselves. Scarcely do we realize that this is by no means the “sincerity” and “kindness” towards a person with self-respect, but the anesthesia and poisoning for a narcissist who is cowardly in the heart.
