The new year 2014 is coming. At the end of each year, we look back to see what we have done in the past year and how our year plan worked. At the same time we would make plans for the new year according to our last year experience.
Looking at my own plan for 2013, I found that I have completed only about half of what I wanted to do. The reason for the failure to complete everything was mostly due to unexpected things or incidents happening suddenly, which took away a lot of my time. In addition, I expect everything to work out perfectly, so I go into too much details for everything I do. The result was too much work done with too little result. The complicated and difficult tasks was delayed and the easy work done first. Furthermore, time was spent on leisure, friends, communications, news, skills, updating my knowledge and the things happening around me. I am not sure whether these activities are necessary but it is taking away my work time. I don't want to be a boring guy working on holidays and doing nothing but work. Having friends to talk and enjoy my leisure time to makes my mind relaxed and feel connected to the community and world. So I need to think about giving more time to work and less time for leisure and enjoyment.
My plan for 2014 is that I must finish all my work in the first 3 months focusing on the difficult work. When I finish all the big works, the small things would be easy.
How was your plan for last year 2013? Don't be too disappointed if things did not go according to your plans. That happens to most people. Just concentrate on what you need to do and any difficult work can be completed. Wish all my friends a Happy 2014.
