I read in a British newspaper about friends which seems to true in China too;
At the age of 26 Most people have about 5 trusted friends at the age of 26.
Age of 30 to 40 they would have 4 friends.
Age of 50 they would only have 1 or 2 trusted friends.
Later in life we start losing friends. Over half (54 per cent) of us have lost friendships through moving, while 36 per cent say that over time they grew apart from close friends. Having children has also caused 19 per cent to drift away from childless friends.
Friends start disappearing or drifting apart in later life and that is why we have so many lonely elderly people. Everyone needs friends and I wonder why people cannot keep long term friendships.

1. Trustworthy - 85 per cent
2. Loyal - 79 per cent
3. Funny - 62 per cent
4. Respectful - 57 per cent
5. Have a love of travel - 15 per cent
6. Thick skinned - 13 per cent
7. A good taste in music 12 per cent
8. Generous - nine per cent
9. Stylish - seven per cent
10. Attractive and good looking - six per cent.

- It is a great treasure to embrace one or two true friends in our life, those true friendship will not fade away as the time gone.

- Close friend is the best gift given by the life. Someone said friend is a person who can help when you have difficulties and can provide such a thing to help you, but I think friends also should inspire each other.

- I found that i had more friends (including classmate from high school and college) before, but now, i just found that i have only 2 closed friends, even that one of them lives in the different city far away from me so that we just keep in touch on wechat or by phone. It seems that we all focus more on family and children after marry, so we contact with each other less and less, and some of our relationships become not as much close as before.

- for me,I think,the person growing up with you might be the close friend in your future life.and most of us like the friend who sharing the similar characteristic with us.There was a funny thing happen at my early age,I recall it sametimes.Unconsciously I told my younger cousin who spent some year of childhood with me,if you get married early than me,we will lose the topic.Now my prediction is fail because she is single still.Sometimes,I recall it which seems to be childish words,but have to say,it got some point.we prefer to make the same type friend,and who will take the significant seats in our life.
