try reciting speeches to improve English

Whenever somebody I work with leaves his job, they are all saying like "we should practice our English as much as possible, because it's really useful in the interview", or "It's very important to talk things fluently in English when you are in interview. At least, you should be able to understand all the things the interviewer said", or "some guy is prefect in the technical field, but what he lacks is his oral English, what a pity, we cannot hire him". At that time, we always fall into the endless discussion about how to learn English, especially for oral part, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Different guys have different options. Someone prefers to take courses online, or join some face-to-face trainings, while others prefer to follow up with English movies/comedies. They all sounds a good idea, as long as you can insist on this,  and practice day by day.
Actually, it's true that English is more important than you may even imagine. In a foreign capital company, English is the common and only language for everybody to communicate. We make online conversation in English, write in English,  hold meetings in English, even talk in English.
For me, the best and interesting way is following with speeches. I love to repeat and recite important speeches taken by Barack Obama, including his inaugural speech as well as other famous ones.  My way is simple, do not try to recite all of them, just watch the Chinese scripts and translate it into English. Compare your sentence with the official one, you can benefit from it more. The more you can translate it right, the more you are fluent with oral English. Obama's speech is easy to understand, and not in a hard way to do reciting. The scope in his speeches cover so much areas, like health care, war, teenager education, energy, economy,anti-terrorist, etc. Although the real situation may already change after several years by now, the sentences are still useful for English learning perspective. And, you may really remember some of the famous sentences after several repeating, like "In a generous America, you don't have to be rich to achieve your potential", or "People don't expect government to solve all their problems. But they sense, just with a slight change in priorities, we can make sure that every child in America can have a decent shot at their life", or "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. And they are endowed by the Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness".
In reciting we learn. But in a fast-food like society, people don't usually have the mood to do reciting. Following with the bilingual books, you can have another feeling in learning English. Sometimes, you may feel amazing that you can just blurt out the English very fluently when watching out the Chinese scripts. And you may find that, English sentences have their own writing rules, like what part should be placed in the head, what part should be put behind, in what situation the clause are used, etc. The more you practice, the more rules inside the language you discover.
fellow friends, I hope all of you can try my method, discovering that the oral English sometimes is more funny than boring.
