Last Sunday, 21 single billionairs and 22 single women attended a party in Beijing. The party was organized by a Shanghai-based match-making agency helping wealthy Chinese men and women find their better half. The admission fee per person was 100,000 yuan, which was one of the most expensive in China, while the 22 women attended for free.
There are 130 known dollar billionairs in China, higher than any other country except the United States, according to the 2009 Hurun report.
People may doubt if the billionairs are buying love in the form of the match-making party. Can love be bought?
The Indecent Proposal, a Hollywood film in which Demi Moore starred, seems to give us the answer.In this film, a billionair cost one million dollars to buy a one-night stand. However, he was unable to buy love in the end.
