A Special Day

477 views. 2010-1-9 19:35 |Individual Classification:Comment|

It is a special day today for graduates. About 1.4 million graduates took part in this year's entrance exams for postgraduate schools.

The figure of 1.4 million, 13% higher than that of last year, set a new record high in history. However, 465,000 candidates will be recuited this year, according to the Ministry of Education.

Experts say it is the less optimistic prospects of the employment market that led to the large amount of applications for postgraduate schools. Graduates hope they can increase their competitive strength by further study to make sure that they will have an edge on the more and more fierce competition for job hunting.

The number of graduates I know ,however the number of candidates shock me . It's too little. I think the form of the postgraduate exam is similar with the Civil Service exam. The rate of admission is too little.

I don't think that graduate student can find job easier than undergraduate students in the now society, but in the long run, high education means more chances in work.

Yes, you are right. Students with master degrees want to get a job with high salary while employers are reluctant to do that. So they are in a dilemma.

The form there means the life form. Because of the recession of the global economy so many students choose this road. If they success , they can dodge the situation. The civil service is the best job in China and the graduate will learn another 3 years. I wonder whether  they can learn more useful knowledge and obtain the  promotion in thr government. Maybe someone will say "This is none of your business". But I just want to know if it's worth.  Let nature take its course perhaps is the answer . But that is our crucial step in our life. We should be responsible for ourselives.

Yes I know this. And even you pass the exam, you have to attend the interview.  One of my friends had attended the exam. He told me that most  candidates merely had tries. Only few groups treat the exam seriously . At a lot of districts, if you do not have the relationship or the money, even if you pass the exam, you may be eliminated (I insist on this point) .I think it's wasting time for some students. We should know what we really want .We are supposed to do something meaningful.

As for relationship or guanxi and bribe issue, I have nothing to say. It's reported that the Central Discipline Inspection Committee has punished more than 100000 corrupt officials in 2009, and we know there are more not to be found.

I don't know, I'm curious about that, so I want to have a try. After all, we should find a job someday.
I don't want to wait another 3 years. Though it would be very hard, I'll struggle against it
