The gender imbalance in China will lead to marriage problems in the next decade. Men of marrying age in 2020 will find themselves lacking of wives. There will be about 24 million men who would face with that problem, many of whom might marry women much older than them.
It is partly because of the one-child policy that China adopted many years ago. Many families in China prefer a boy to a girl as their "only" child, which results in men outnumbering women.
It is said that China will maintain the policy for at least another 10 years. It will probably be adjusted if there is a need.
