Dog Meat Eating Prohibited

Hot pots are popular in China, among which dog hot pot is a typical dish in some parts of China, especially during cold winters. Some people like to eat dog meat. However, people would be jailed in the near future if caught eating dog meat.
A draft law has been completed to protect animals from being abused, hurt or killed in a cruler manner, and will be raised for legislation this April, according to media. People who are caught eating dog or cat meat would be detained for up to 15 days and fined 5,000 yuan, while businesses would be fined from 100,000 to 500,000 yuan.
The report caused debate on the Internet. Some say dogs are our loyal friends and eating dogs is shameless. Others claim local economy would be hurt by the ban. What do you think?

- I don't like traffickers who like selling dogs and cats for living. I think it is a shameful job.
I like doggies and kittens when I was a kid. I spent most of my spare time with them.
But now, feeding pets are forbidden in my living building....

- This is a complicated problem. In China the gap between the rich and the poor is huge. Some people want to become the rich via the dog hotpot. They only care about the revenue. On the contrary, some people consider this from the spirit and moral level. There is not a consequence , unless the huge gap disappear.
