One Photo, Two Dismissed

432 views. 2010-2-7 18:23 |Individual Classification:Comment|

One photo led two railway station officials, head and party secretary of Dongguan Railway Station, removed from office.

Zheng Lindong, a photographer with Dongguan Daily, took a picture of some passengers climbing into a passenger train through windows at the Dongguan Railway Station Jan. 25, 2010.  For the safety of those passengers, some staff of the station gave their hands to them who were climbing, which was regarded as wrongdoing by authorities.  The two officials, as the top leaders of the station, should answer for the wrongdoing, and were relieved of their posts after the photo had been posted on the internet.

The incident brought about a heated discussion on the internet.  Tens of thousands of netizens complained that the punishment was unfair to the officials, and at the same time, rebuked the photographer seriously.  Zheng claimed that he took the picture out of his professional habit, without thinking about the consequences.

I don't think anyone was wrong in the incident.  If there is something wrong, it might be the lack of necessary resources while we got so large population.

I have climbed the window of one train. There are too many people to get the train through the door.

I'm speechless. A few days ago I heard a piece of news which said there was a empty train ran out from Dongguan leaving many people can't take on the train

I think it's completely unfair that they lost their jobs. The climbers were doing what they had to do as well as the photographer. I see no foul or did the climbers not have tickets? If they had tickets, then they were just finding a solution to a problem.
