Although the family and the career are all important for women, I believe that the undertaking is a pursuit, but a woman should be family-oriented. If she must choose one from family and career, I think she should choose her family.

Actually, the families are the lives for women. For a family, woman likes the binder, is the most powerful part for family cohesion. However successful in career a woman is, the family is always the end-result for her. The most typical thing for her is she must believe that the education of her child is chief.

Now I give you an example to support my point. The investigation done by Geng Xiuwen, a professor of East China Normal University, suggests that 70 percent of the female college students in Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University and East China Normal University hold that family is more important than career for women. If the family and career conflict, 37.3% of them will choose their careers, but in contrast, 61.2% will do the opposite. When asked what is the most important thing of their lives, 43.3% of the female college students said, “ A happy and harmonious family.” However, 41.8% want their careers. I think the set of data can illustrate that women should value their families more, relative to careers.

I think that a woman is successful or not does not rely on how much money she makes or how high her social position is, but whether she takes care of her family. It is unrelated to the gender equality that women should be family-oriented. This is just a question of social division of labor. Man works outside to support his family, woman arranges their family. Isn’t it a romantic thing?

Without the base of harmonious family, both the careers of men and women will lose their groundwork, and the harmonious family needs women’s careful hearts. So I will restate my view that women should take family more important than career.
