What can I do?

I am very frustrated recently. The nightmare came every night, I felt tired and unhappy last week. Since a new colleague joined our department, the bad events came again and again till off work everyday. If there is a new colleague who is capable of the position joining your team, he/she may make the team stronger and stronger, we will be all happy, exciting. We are all looking forward to these colleagues can be the members of us, especially when it comes to you are the leader in this team.

However, if you discover some secrets about the new colleagues, the key secret that your salary is lower than his/hers, though you are the supervisor or leader, will you feel upset? Absolutely. When it comes to me exactly, I think that it is incredible at once in my mind. Why will the GM or HR do non-common sense work in Normal Corporation? Nobody can let any member’s salary higher than leader’s.

So I did not believe that when I heard from one colleague, we are good relationship. But it is exact fact. Oh my god. Compared with the new colleague, her work experience is better, the unique weakness she has not professional knowledge with our products. It needs to teach her from now on. Damn it! The teaching assignment is my responsibility.

What can I do?

What should I do?

I am very would like to give up my job now! But my mom suggested that I should communicate with leaders, Maybe GM or HR. And then, I talked with my direct leader, whose answer let me feel frustrated again. She said she did not know the details!

I was once in the exact same position as you are in now. My salary was similar to my assistants and everyone got more percentage increase of salary than me. This is certainly not acceptable because the salary is taking as grading. How can a management salary be similar to ordinary staff. I had no choice but to keep calm and find our what was going on through unofficial channels. Later I discovered that the son on my boss joined the company after graduating from USA. He knows little about running a company but keep talking about modernising the company. He felt the existing staff shoud be replaced by new staff, so he used the method of neglect to drive the existing staff away. Upon seeing this, I requested a meeting witht he management and let them know that this won't work because we are not a bank, we need people with experience to keep things going. He agreed with me, but later he still went on in the same way without change. Without much choice, I had to resign and started my own business. Now two years later, that company business dropped 80% and from and the status of the company also dropped. They were also cheated by a manager who ran away with large sums of money. It is not that I wish the company bad after I left but sometimes, thing happen outside our control and everyone gets hurt. You may consider keeping quiet for a while and see how things go before making a decision on what to do. Good luck to you.

I do not know your company's size, but this kind of thing has been around me and my friend also. the reason maybe he is your leader's favorite or his capability is stronger than you. maybe have other reasons, but you should not feel serious about it. I know as a leader your salary is lower than your underling but you have to train him.this kind of feeling is so bad, but you should get to the bottom of  how he can come in your company and what he would do. make some event then you can observe what will your leader would do.

it's not your new joiner's fault. she is innocent. you know evrybody must make a request about their salary before they join a company, then the HR&Admin department will make the final decision. If your new colleague get the offer by the normal processes, i think she should deserve it. i think you have made a lower requst in salary side. maybe the new joiner will replace your current role when she is familiar with her job.

Something can not be valued by money. Is there something wrong with your canculation? Do your friend make extra money?Do your company have no clear rules of your salaries?I think you can talk to your colleague.Maybe there's something wrong. Don't worry.

Keep a clear mind and think twice before you want to have a change because it's not so easy to find an enjoyable job nowadays.
