 《新牛津美语大辞典》宣布社交网站上的常用单词“unfriend”当选为今年的年度词汇。那么unfriend是什么意思呢？

Unfriendwas defined as a verb that means to remove someone as a “friend” on a social networking site such as Facebook.

Unfriend是一个动词，意思是在Facebook等社交网站上与某人解除好友关系。

现在越来越多的新媒体词汇进入了词典。比如hashtag（标签）、sexting（发送色情短信）、freemium（提供免费基本服务的商业模式）、paywall（网站的付费门槛）、intexticated（开车时因发短信而分神）、choice mom（选择做单身母亲的人）等。

因为有了社交网站，人与人的距离一下子被拉近了。也许昨天你和他或她还不相识，但是通过社交网站也许今天你就make friends with him/her。不过网络上交的朋友和现实中所交的朋友还是有所不同的。现实中的朋友会有矛盾，并可能因此而turn against each other，但是等头脑冷静后可能还会make friends again（言归于好）。社交网站上的朋友虽然看上去总是非常friendly，但是如果有一天感到厌倦了，你可能会unfriend him/her，而且一般再也不会有机会接触了。

It is true that because of the rapid growth of the IT, you run into strangers everyday in all kinds of occassions. You may have friends from all over the world of all different types, however you may forget them quickly for you just chatted once or twice.

In my opinion, true friends are those people who would love to spend much time on you like you do to them. So if you really like a friend, keep in touch!
