The definition of heroes
- Obviously that China and western countries have different definitions for heroes.
- In China, heroes are dead most of the time. They are always selfishless who would spend all their lives helping or fighting for certain group of people and never consider of their own needs.They may lose finally but they never give up their life-long career. They are always unknown to the public before they die, but after their death, they become immortal in all our hearts.
- However, things are quite different in western world. Their heroes will be seldom defeated. They are always final winners no matter how rough the fighting or situation is. At last they may work for people in hardships but at the begining, they just seek their own welfare. They are pioneers rather than heroes to some extent. To western people, heroes firstly are normal people and then are deified. If I have to give examples who would be an ideal hero for western world, Jackie Chan's film roles will be.
- Maybe it's just different thinking style between west and east, or exactly culture difference. Whatever it is, it's amazing to study these diversities.
