Live In Darkness

937 views. 2009-12-1 13:36 |Individual Classification:memory|

Darkness gives me a pair of black eyes , while I use them to look for brightness. I should say, my roommates and I are just doing such things in these days. For our dormitory’s power has been cut off for two days.

We have no idea what’s with it. It is said that our school has just changed into computer system to operate our electricity wires, and the menders don’t know how to fix it. What a ironic thing! The original purpose was for the convenience of our students, but it only ended up with bringing in convenience to us. In the last two days, we couldn’t charge our mobile phones and couldn’t use other electrical equipment. Finally, we had to pull a electricity wire from the opposite dormitory, so that we could lit a light in the evening.

There is no accurate time for the recovery of electricity, but I hope it won’t be long. We hate the life in darkness terribly.

Yes, it is terrible to live in darkness. But it is a good opportunity to think of the blind. Be thankful all the time.
You made me think of Helen Keller's article named "Three Days to See" It is impressive and left an indelible print on my mind after reading it. One paragraph still lingering in mind “The same lethargy, I am afraid, characterizes the use of all our faculties and senses. Only the deaf appreciate hearing, only the blind realize the manifold blessings that lie in sight. Particularly does this observation apply to those who have lost sight and hearing in adult life. But those who have never suffered impairment of sight or hearing seldom make the fullest use of these blessed faculties. Their eyes and ears take in all sights and sounds hazily, without concentration and with little appreciation. It is the same old story of not being grateful for what we have until we lose it, of not being conscious of health until we are ill."

find some fireflies to light your room so you can read in the light of it.
Just kidding.

Yes, and I always thanks god that I'm not a blind person.

You should not say "Yes, and I always thanks god that I'm not a blind person" If a blind person knows what you are saying it will hurt. You should say, I now have great  sympathy for blind people. No electricity for sometime is not too bad or how would you know how nice it is to just press a button and the light comes on and how valuable electricity is to our daily lives. I always force myself into difficult situations to appreciate what I have and I can say I am a happy person because I know how to appreciate and don't take things for granted. Everyone else should too.

Blackout often happened when I was in university. We also had some system which could tell if we were using high-power electrical equipment that were not allowed. Normally it would be cut for 5 minutes. If our dormitory's power was cut 3 times a day, we are in trouble. It would not return back to normal unless we paid for the fine. It seems that your school are running in a similiar way.

yah, it recalls me the past times in college. once we used high-power electrical facility that were prohibited, the power would cut down. compared with others who could not see the world by their eyes, we are so lucky. god will bless them kind-hearted people. cherish all that we own.

You are right, you are such a considerate person
I think it will be more properate to change my words into " I always thank god that I have a pair of healthy eyes." compared with the former ones. And by the way, I'm not a hard hearted guy

Of course it has generator. The problem is that only few dormitories had been power off. And last night, such accident had happened 3 times in my dormitory, and it is still not back to normal at that moment
