Last night I watched a movie named An Education. It was a movie quite inspiring.
Janny was a high school student who was going to graduate, and she dreamed to enter Oxford. One day, she met with an adult man named David. He was handsome, humorous, and mature. Soonly, she fell in love with this guy.
She hung out with him on Friday night, and at the same time lied to her parents. What’s more, she went to Paris with him. As long as she fell in love with David, she figured it out that the school life was boring. And she doubted whether she should continue her study if she could find a shortcut to happiness.
Moths later, David proposed to Janny and she accepted. For the marriage, Janny gave up her study and her dream to Oxford. However, she found out that David had been married. She quarreled with him, and then he left her. Janny went to his house and saw his wife and his child. She regretted a lot and left without saying a word. Janny went back to school , she asked the headmaster to give her a second chance to take the examination. But she was refused, and the headmaster said “ I’m afraid the chance will be wasted on you.”
At this time, Janny returned to her teacher for help, who had been insulted by her when she consisted on dropping out from school. To her surprise, the teacher said “ I’m hoping you wuld say that.” Fortunately, Janny passed the exam and was admitted by Oxford. She realized then there has no shortcut to the life you dreamed about.
I thought a lot. We always want to find a shortcut to our targets. However, we ignore the simple rule that “ No pains, no gains.” How can we get something if we don’t pay first? Guys, please remember that there has no shortcut to the life you dreamed about.
