Ken tells me that each person has his own characteristics. To be a good manager, you should know everyone’s strong points and weakness. And in order to have the maximum utilization of the resources, you should put the staff into an appropriate location. As everyone knows, in the 21st century, the talent is the core to any company.
Now our company has almost twenty staff (including full-time and part-time). Xuyi is the most stubborn person among us – sometimes he doesn’t care about other’s feeling and speak without a brain. He is a little reckless. Like yesterday, he told ken that he thought ken was poor in project management. And he said “ken, I really don’t know what you do in MOTO, I think the way you managing us is completely wrong. Aren’t you known before starting one project you should do the requirements analysis first? I think you know nothing about the project management”. What he said really shocked me. Ken has so many years experience in this area, how could xuyi say such a word to he? Then later, ken told me that this was the biggest weakness of xuyi. Xuyi was good at learning and programming, and also he had a huge sense of obligation. But he was impatience and couldn’t control himself. Ken told me “you should be tolerance to everyone, and it’s the way you can gather them together and then develop the company smoothly.”
Yes, I agree. Each person is unique. If you want to be happier, just be kindly to treat the people around you. And in my mind, a leader should treat his staff like the way you treat your friends.
You can lead a horse to a river, but you can’t manage it to drink. That’s the difference between leader and manager.
