Who has good ways to learn English better? On every morning,I would listen to CNN news for at least half an hour to improve my listening level. But I find that when I meet a foreigner, there is still a large part of conversation that I could hardly understand, besides, when I talk with a foreigner, I really do not know what to talk about. I always fear that my topics may not attractive or too tedious. To promote my speaking skills, I would choose to read some materials in order to improve my pronouncement, fluency. However, after starting a English talk with others, my sentences and words look too pale and simple. I feel my stategies applied to English are not that effective,so now I need some help and suggestions from friends here. Looking forward to your precious advice.Thank you in advance.

Learning English can always be like this, the more you exhaust yourself, the more you find yourself retrogressing. The only method is to believe that you will make progress and have your patience doubled, and your success is part of your fate while failure as well is.

There's no short cut in learning a language. the learning process could be long and frustrating. however, if we can stick to it long enough, we can finally reach our goal.

Don't try to use conversations with a foreigner to evaluate your spoken English ability. Most foreigners would not slow down or make it easy for you. They would just speak as if they are talking to native English speakers. I, myself, as a British person sometimes don't know what the westerners are talking about, especially Americans. Their accents is not that easy to follow. The next is Scottish or Irish nationals and their accent is too strong to follow.

Furthermore, when you talk to a foreigner, you would be nervous and forget the contents of the conversation. The result would be you don't know what to say and just stop there. Practice would clear off all your difficulties, so have patience and practice more. You can do it and you are almost there.

Foreigner speak of local idioms. Slangs. Without understanding of their history and cultures. You seldom know what they expressed.
