Which language is more difficult than the Latin language?
I tried to learn three Romance languages extensively. They are Portuguese, French and Italian. I did this in a chronological sequence. I mean I know Portuguese first. I learned Italian last. I can converse with the natives in the Portuguese and French or English without using a translator. I do not want much to learn Spanish because I do not want to talk to people from South America. However, I would like to talk to the Spanish, but I do not know how to avoid speaking with people from South America. I know all the Romance languages come from Latin, but the Latin language is beyond my comprehension. I also tried to learn this language, but I know only the most basic vocabulary. I heard that the Italian is a Romance language closest to Latin. I used the application Memrise to learn the vocabulary of the Latin language, but I do not remember a lot. I do not know if the Italian people could write in Latin, but I think not.
There are some languages very difficult, but I do not think that the Latin language is the most difficult language in the world in which we live. I think you know that China is a country with a long history. The ancient Chinese is a very difficult language. Generally, the Chinese modern age could not understand without translation and annotations, but higher education entrance exam of China, or Gaokao, some students have written in ancient Chinese. Imagine an Italian student write in Latin, written production should be more than 400 words. The ancient Chinese is certainly more difficult, but some Chinese students have succeeded. This became news and articles have become public. Personally I want to say that for me, writing in ancient Chinese will be more difficult to write in Italian. It may seem surprising, but it's true.
Now I want to write some phrases in Latin, and I want to know if you can understand. "Puer being ambulat. Puer being puellae videt, sed puellae not puerum amant. Puer CENAT sed puer not laborat." On the other hand, I have encountered a website of the Latin language a long time ago. This website is www.thelatinlibrary.com. I can not understand the ancient texts. I think that the Italian is much simpler.
I hope one day I could write in the ancient Chinese and Latin.
