Would you spend 500 years to exchange for an encounteer?

"Every encounteer you meet this life was exchanged from 500 times' gaze past life" Maybe you have heard this sentence many times, and you may think I translated it into a dull expression, it doesn't matter anyway, I welcome all of the readers do a better job for me. But the main purpose of this blog is the story behind it.
Here it is:
Once there was a very beautiful girl, unmarried, therefore, attract many matchmakers' attention, they all want to introduce her a good marriage. But the girl herself refused all of them, and never gave any of them even a chance, for there is already a boy living in her heart.
She met him at a temple fair, then watching him disappearing into the crowd. Though it was only a gaze, she already put him in her heart, and no intention to pull away.
She kept looking then, and prayed to the buddha, wishing to meet him again.
Her sincerity finally moved buddha, he showed himself to the girl, told her"I can realize your dream, but you have to give up all you have got now, and practice for 500 hundred years, will you bear? "
"Yes" she said without delay.
Then she became a huge stone, out in the air, bearing the hot sun and the heavy rain. Exhaustly, she passed a four-hundred year without seeing him once.
Finally at the five-hundred year, she was moved into town and were made into the parapet of a bridge. Right at that day, she saw him, the man she waited for 5 hundred years! Of course, he paid no attention to her, a stone is not worth watching after all. He left in a hurry, she can't say to him of course, and do not have the ability to let him stay.
Thhe buddha showed again. "I wanna touch him" she begged again. "Another 500 years". "I can", again without hesitation.
She became a big tree this time, standing by the roadside, waiting for his coming...
Another 500 years, and the day when it comes to the 1-thousand year, she knew he would come, but no excited anymore.
This time, he didn't passed by, he was tired because of walking, he then stopped at the tree, leaned his body against the tree, and fell asleep.
She can touch him! Right here beside her! But she cannot say to him how deep she missed him during the long 1000 years.
Of course, he left after the pause, without looking back. Then buddha showed again,"wanna become his wife?" he asked. She smiled, "yes, but there is no necessarity". Buddha was confused, "love him doesn't mean to be his wife", she continued softly.
"Is his wife suffered like me?" she asked, no surprise to see buddha nodding. "I can do it, but no necessarity now", she said again, with a slight smile.
This time, buddha smiled, told her that another boy could save his 1000 years, for he has already spend his 2000 years to exchage for her one gaze...

- oh! this is an old and really romantic saying! actually i am trying my best to believe it, sadly, maybe it's not gonna happen to me, i really don't think there is such beautiful thing in this cold sad society, maybe i am too negative!

- If I were the girl, I would not ask buddha for help. Why I should? For he is just there and all I should do is to show myself and my deepest love to him. I could do that with my own power. And as for the 500 years for an encounter, it seems to me that it teaches us to treasure every person we meet in our daily life.

- adamhe: oh! this is an old and really romantic saying! actually i am trying my best to believe it, sadly, maybe it's not gonna happen to me, i really don't thOf course it will never gonna happen in nowadays, for we don't have a buddha who has power and magic. But there is still true love, I believe. Hope you believe too.

- Sometimes the person one has been searching for over 500 years is the guy right beside you, whom one hasn't bothered to take a glance. I met the right girl three years ago and I believed in destiny, but she was too young to accept me. She married a young man whom she didn't love and ended in divorce within a year. Now she blamed me not being earnest in my love. No matter how, to me, it means 1000 years have passed, so there is no sense in being engaged.
