3rd of Jan, Thursday

When I was back from work, 师兄 was back from Macau. Obviously, he just woke himself up from a wonderful sleep, even though it was 7 o’clock.

The sight of his watching movie, somehow, filled my heart with warmth. He was back.

“I thought you will be back till the weekend.” I knocked his door, and held the two boiled eggs, the beer which I cannot open, and the last two pieces of 趣多多 inside his room.

“Need to work tomorrow. And in fact, I was back last night, at around 11 o’clock.” He used a steel spoon to open the beer and put it in front of me.

“I went to bed at 10:31 last night. No wonder I didn’t hear your coming back.” I reached the 趣多多 and bit it up. “This one is for you.” I looked at the last piece in the box. “You know what, because the first one I took is soft, you gave me that night, and I like the soft ones instead of the crispy. So when my friend bought me this, I opened it and keep it remain unprotected for several days, so that it can turn soft.”

“How long did you keep it open? Where did you put it?” He asked in a very serious tone.

“Just opened it and put it on the desk. But I don’t think it’s as soft as the ones you gave me. I like yours.”

He stared at me, without any words. I was confused. Anything wrong? Then, he broke into a belly laugh. He turned his head aside to stufle his laugh and then turn it back:”You think I gave you the cookies which I had been opened for a long time and even it may be out-of-date?”

“I don’t mean you gave me the out-of-date cookies, but the fact is I like that soft.” I had no idea why he just kept laughing.

“But, the cookies are soft themselves. There are two versions for this cookies, one is crispy, like the ones your friend gave you; the other one is soft, like the ones I gave you. They are two versions. See?” He took the last piece and bit it. And you still could see his smiles in the corner of his mouth.

“I…” I didn’t know what I should say…

“I haven’t bought any particular presents for you,” he stood up and said. “But I know you will love this.” He took some small papers from his overcoat pocket and then, I saw, they were tickets.

“Tickets?”

“Yeah, but they are stamped with a very cute panda figure. When we went into the inn, the staff gave us two tickets. And when I came by a shop full with many decerative goods, I saw the panda stamp and I stamped them on the ticket.” He arranged the tickets one by one to show them clearly. “See, this is the brother Panda, and this is Sister Panda. And I guess you will like this one better.” He put the ticket with sister Panda in front of me.

“How do you know I like this?” I took it from his hand and took a closer look. Macau Galaxy. Pink panda sister. Indeed, I like this. Much better than the local foods.

He smiled as a response, but did not answer. “And this one.” He took up the golden color coin on the desk.

“Macau coin?”

“Yes.”

“Thank you.”

“Then go out and have dinner with me? I’m hungry. You haven’t taken your dinner yet, I guess.”

“But I just took a shower and I don’t want to dress up again.”

“But you know I almost died of hunger when I was in Macau. I don’t know what I have eaten and though I know I have taken a lot but my stomach is still empty. All I want at this moment is egg fried rice.”

“…”

“Come on.”

“Ok, wait for a moment.”

Then I changed the clothes and went out with him. And of course, I didn’t waste such a good opportunity to find a guy to have the ice cream cone with me. ^_^ Winter is the days for ice cream.

And you know what, when we was back and climbed the stars, he led me to the top floor. He stepped out into the darkness and came back before I realized what’s going on. Then next second, he stuffed a piece of fabric into my hands.

“A shawl?” I asked him, who was turning down to the next stair. The shawl was white and though I hadn’t used this shawl before, I could tell it’s the shawl a bride will use in her ceremony. “It seems the one belongs to a bride or her bridemaid.”

“Yes, it is. It belongs to 我的媳妇. She was the bridemaid for the wedding we attended one days ago.”

“So…this is for?” for what?

“For warming. You can put it on the floor so that when you sit on your plastic jigsaw you won’t feel cold.”

^_^
