Not that I know of on the US Forest Service land.  If there were, I would probably know.  However, from about 1885 to 1910, zinc and copper mines operated southeast of Yellville and in other locations in Arkansas.  I have been in several of them as a boy years ago.  The town of Yellville was a boom town, growing to more than 10,000 people in the early 1900s.  Soon, however, mines in South America and elsewhere, began producing those same minerals but at a much lower cost,  mainly because of cheaper labor (people willing to work for less money) and the mines were closed and have remained closed for a hundred years or more.
