Some people wonder what a sedgehead is. Here's one answer. I found this sedge blooming Saturday, April 21, 2012. A sedgehead is person who studies sedges. This sedge is called Carex torta Boott by scientists with Boott being both part of the scientific name and the name of the person who first found and described the species.
