They say fame has its disadvantages.  Often, for example, 5 to 10 people in China will want to talk to me on QQ at the same time.  True celebrities complain that they cannot go out in public because people are attracted to them.  This is happened to me only on the scale of the internet.  I sometimes get a little overwhelmed by the response from a Chinese friends.

For example, every week and almost every day I will receive a message like this.  “I’m so glad to meet you.  I’ve never talked to a foreigner before.  I see you’re learning Chinese.  Why don’t we talk for 15 or 30 minutes every day on Skype or QQ?  You can teach me English and I can help you learn Chinese.” Unfortunately, if I did this with the 100 people who contact me each year I would spend 50 hours a day learning Chinese.

So why should I apologize?  Today, someone contacted me on this web site and wanted to be my friend.  I discovered I had been neglecting to add friends here.  So today I am adding 32 new friends on this web site.  I’m sorry for the delay.  对不起。
