I sent the following letter to my two US Senators from Arkansas and to the one member of the US House of Representatives who represents my part of that state. Arkansas has two US senators who represent the entire state and five representatives who represent five geographic areas of the state individually. That is, my north Arkansas representative does not represent people in central or southern Arkansas.
As an ecologist, I edit research and other technical papers out of China to improve the translator's use of English. I was particularly impressed by this statement. "The concern is related with natural fluctuations in wind power output, and is also related to poor coordination between wind power producers, other power generators and the grid managers themselves, and the power management system’s failure to adapt to wind power. It’s imperative to optimize the power supply system structure and grid layout, strengthen reforms of the power system, and establish a power grid management system and implement operational mechanisms to adapt to new energy features."
The United States needs to heed this warning from our Chinese friends and work to intergrate our power grid on a national scale. Only government can adequately prevent a blackout like that currently being experienced in India.
