If I Were An Iron Butterfly

If I were an iron butterfly,
Then I could live in the water and fire,
neglecting the fool's well-meaning suggestions.
If I were an iron butterfly,
I would fly into nets opening towards me,
remembering life was vulnerable for other butterflies.
If I were an iron butterfly,
I could pollinate more flowers,
for I have such a srtong body that I won't be hurt anymore.
If I were an iron butterfly…
Yet I do wish I were such an amazing creature.
Background: Benazir Bhutto is just about an iron butterfly. She inherited her father's position, chased for her dream and went well up to bridle--led the Peoples Party to fight for democracy. Born in a political aristocratic family, destiny grants her an uncommon life. Her 54-year-old life is full of ups and downs—— came into power as Prime Minister of Pakistan twice, being expatriated, jailed and exiled for countless times. The late 2007 should have been a year of hope for Pakistani yet it turned out to be a global tragedy since the astonishing assassination on December 27th.

- duriankate: I love this poem 2.I used to recomend it to my friends.But I have raised a question--Shall the iron butterfly fly up to the sky with her iron wing?I think it was a metaphor for her spirit which was as strong as iron. and she is really a beautiful butterfly, as a mother, as a wife, as a woman fighter.
