Life so far this Tuesday

What's happening family? friends? You good? This entry's going to be pretty short. I have a lot to do today and as my pops always said: 'Time and tide wait for no man' (it applies to women too).

Things this month have been and are going to be very busy. I have a few new projects keeping me busy. I've been helping one of my friend's at a language school where they teach Legal English to university students. The main aim of the school is to help students prepare for a Legal English Certificate exam. It's similar to the LSAT which I wrote before I left TO, except the main aim of the exam is to prove to foreign or international law firms, that the students are comprehensive when it comes to English 'legalese'.  I'm there a couple nights a week and preparing is pretty intense.

I'm also prepping to do a talk in Yunnan Daxue about my previous research that I started in Philadelphia last year at Eastern University. My primary research topic was human trafficking and it's relationship to development. So I'll be talking to a bunch of university students about the current state of the situation in the US as well as giving them some background info...etc. I'll present in English with a translator, but I have to have all the slides converted to Chinese before the talk. The cool thing is that I have a volunteer assigned to me to be my translator whenever the need arises. He's a pretty cool guy and we get a long good. Sometimes we'll be cracking madd jokes in meetings when it starts to get long and boring (we have a lot of those for some reason). I'm going to tie some other topics in to the talk, i.e. University life in Canada. Students will be really interested in discussing that type of topic. Besides I'd much rather lead a discussion than give a lecture. The more exchange between the people in the room, the better.

I'll also be having some interviews with some local development experts towards the end of the month, which will be really interesting. I'll tell you more about that at some other time.

Me and a couple of my friends met this hip hop dance crew recently while we were on road. All girls, and they can put it doooown. I was surprised to find that Kunming has a serious hip hop element to it. Most of them can't even speak English but they know the difference between hip hop and rap, b-boying and breakdancing. They're on point and they're professional. They have a ill studio where they teach 7 days a week. They also told me that there's this one dude who can freestyle in English so they're arranging a session soon time. U dun know I'm gonna bring my style to it and make dem know bout some TO flavour (singing, not rhymes).

Anyhow, that's about it for now. Thanks for reading. I'll get at you again soon. Peace.

almost your articles are long and something is not easy to understand ,maybe that's the special idiom.

Admire your nice expression.

Thanks, i'm glad you find the articles interesting...sometimes I do use idioms that my friends in Toronto can understand...if there are any you don't understand please ask and I will explain; maybe other people can't understand as well ;)
