Last week, after a long struggle with myself, I finally bought a new MP3 player....Emotion defeats reason again.
Today I finished an English novel named The Women of Brewster Place, a black novel, a woman novel. By far, I have read four English books this year: A Study in Scarlet, The Old Man and the Sea, An Experiment in Criticism and this one.
My next target is The Odyssey by Homer. My interest in antient Greek literature was aroused by a lecture on western drama given by a professor in the Chinese department. He gave lectures in Chinese, but now I am going to read some in English. Since the texts are originally written in antient Greek, both Chinese version and English version are translated, they are equal for me. Actually, the Chinese lecture really teaches me a lot. Some deep thoughts can only be expressed in one's native language.
Oh, yes, I am watching "Modern Family". It is hilarious!
