Google's departure for HKSAR

550 views. 2010-3-23 12:28 |

Tuesday, thick weather, had drizzle early in the morning.
My first blog was commented for 8 times, not bad for a rookie like me. I am glad to be cared about by DioEnglishers, and to extent my appreciation for you guys here.
A big thing happened today is the departure of 'Google.cn', which is substituted by 'Google.com.hk', withdraw of google from China mainland sends a chilling message to companies that remain. Network news report that google has succeeded in this place commercially but failed to convince the authorities that information wants to be free. Ex facto, some famous foreign websites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are all explicitly blocked in an earlier time. By contrast, google's plight is better, every netizen just like me could open the powerful search engine, though, in the name of 'google.com.hk', for what google should congratulate herself on. What cause the existence of these phenomena in today's open, growing China, maybe a lot of unkowns are not gainable for commoners. In spite of that, I believe China is going to fix problems encounted on the route of development and prosperity, every detail is gonna advance its way to maturity and perfection.
The country's evolution is just like a human's growing. So, one day a problem blocks your way, don't be afraid, find it out , receive it, fix it, when it happens accompanied by skepticism, criticism. You have no distinctly right answers, just do it. Wrong and right is inter-conversionable sometimes when you look back after a long time. Can wrong solutions of temporary problems lead to good results?  Just like a Chinese proverb: A loss may turn out to be a gain(塞翁失马,焉知非福), the saying is also be translated like 'misfortune may be an actual blessing', which is not appropriate for this situation in my opinion.

Heaven knows, google has its strength, so does Baidu, of course in different aspects. But it's helpful for Baidu to own this great rival's existence, and it can not affordable for Baidu to lose google, fortunately, google can be accessed in spite of her departure from mainland.
