As time goes by, his energy and faith is becoming less and less. In the other word, he is not what he used to be, so he just wants to give up hope and being treated and he is unable to bravely overcome the disease. About his present status, I talked with his doctor about how to help my dad to adjust his mood. In his office, this doctor told me that my dad was very clear that the situation was not as good as before. I knew that and I tried to make her pay attention to other things, such as listening to music, reading newspaper and chatting with other patients and so on. However, he was not interested in those things any more. The doctor told me that dad had no power to do those not because he didn’t concentrate on those. Even though his body was uncomfortable and in pain, his head was active and clear. It’s really hard for the doctor to persuade him to live happily every day.
Entering the doctor’s, what I want was to ask the doctor to make dad feel relaxed and active in the present life. But now I failed. Just now he even told us that he would like to stop taking medicine and hoped to die soon. Facing this condition, I really didn’t find a good way to cheer him up and tell him to fight against the disease. At that moment, I felt so powerless and desperate. Do you know, dad, how much we love you and you are the most important person for us. I believe that you can insist on fighting against the damn disease because of our love. But I also know how hard you are. What we can do is to comfort you and make you feel a little better all the time but we can’t and have no ability to change the situation and make you get rid of the tumor cells. How horrible you are, tumor cells! You are the most evil thing in the world. In the body of the patients, you stop the patient from drinking and eating and even make them get sick after taking in a little food. Do you know how many people want to destroy you? It’s a pity that we human beings fail to cure the patient suffering from malignant tumors. I’m dying to know who can make a breakthrough to cure this kind of disease.

- Terminal cancer is horrible and there is not too much that doctors and family can do about it. The only thing you can do is to let him pass him time peacefully, respectfully and with as little suffering as possible.
My sister also had cancer and passed away. At first, when the doctor identified a tumor, my sister panicked and did not know what to do. Slowly she had to accept fate for this common disease. The only thing I could do was assured her that she would not suffer too much and we already arranged for pain control arrangements in cause she suffers too much pain. I explained to her that life is quite uncertain and nobody knows what could happen to to us tomorrow. She has already lived productively in the past and lived a respectful life. Let nature take it's course. We all would end up at the same place someday, so do not have regrets. Life is like that.
