She had been married for over twenty years and working hard for her family. Her husband is kind and considerable. But she had her own dreams and longs for the romantic life. She once worked as a teacher but she quitted it because of her husband. In order to take care of her family, she had to be busy with the daily trivial things.

One day, she came across a photographer who could be free to anywhere he wanted. When they stayed together, they talked about their family, dreams and feelings. Then gradually they fell in love. She knew it was immoral to do that but she couldn’t help doing that and he said if she wanted to stop, he would stop. During the four days, they spent together good time with each other. There was a time when he left the town and expected her to go with him. Eating the last dinner with him, she decided to stay and continued to live with her family to not hurt her family. In that age, her leaving would make others gossip about their affair and made her husband live in disgrace. Even she knew she loved the man in front of her but was responsible for her family. Finally, he made up his mind to respect her choice and they split up.

After he left her, her life came back to the right track like the old days. She was still a good mother and loving mother. After her husband’s death, she tried to connect with that photographer but failed. As times went by, she received a letter and a box containing some personal things and knew that the photographer passed away and his ashes were scattered at that bridge. Thanks to that bridge, they could meet and fall in love. So when she left the world, she wished her children to sprinkle her ashes at that bridge too. In the letter, she said that she gave her life to the family and she hoped to give the rest of hers to that man. At last, her son and daughter followed their mom’s will. What’s more, mother’s experience made them know the importance of the family and the responsibility to the family. What her mom did moved deeply them and they had a better understanding of the responsibility and family. At that time, they decided to give up divorcing and cherish their own family.

What I write here is just an ordinary story. But in this film, they watch the leading actress and actor wonderful performance, which is beyond my words. If you like it, you’d better watch that old film-----The Bridge of Madison County.
