The other day I just finished the book called Great Gatsby. It was written by F.Scott Fitzgerald and he was famous for this work. For me, it’s kind of hard for me to take in. This was the first time for me to read his book. While reading, I’m not used to the sentence patterns and its obscured words. I once gave it up and picked up another book. I didn’t start reading it until I finished another book first. Even if it was not easy for me, I still put my heart into it and was patient to finish it.

Gatsby was a strong-will man who knew what he wanted and insisted on his plan until he achieved his goal. When he was living with his peasant father, he was clear what he would like to get and how to make his dream come true. He knew if you wanted to succeed, he must be strict with himself in every walk. In order to get into another big world, he chose to get out of his hometown. In this outer world, he could enrich his knowledge and widen his horizon. When readers thought what his aim was to be a successful and rich man, we were wrong. What he wanted was to make his dream girl come back. No matter what he did, he longed for seeing her again and lived with her for ever. However, this girl, daisy was not into him. She was very realistic and wouldn’t give up anything to elope with him. I believe that daisy did love him, but her love changed as the time went by.

However, Gatsby was insisting what he thought was right and believed that Daisy just only him and didn’t love her husband. As Daisy’s husband, tom knew what his wife was like and told us her voice was full of money. Such a clever person, Gatsby didn’t find out that the pretty girl in his hear was totally different from Daisy.

No wonder that if you fall in love with someone, IQ may be zero in a minute. When Gatsby died for Daisy, he did realize what daisy was like and he was too good to her. If he knew that Daisy didn’t belong to him any more, he would choose to let go of her and the past. Then his destiny would be totally different and still might have a chance to live a happy life after meeting another pretty girl. If he did so, he was not the character, Gatsby created by the author.

All in all, Gatsby’s destiny depends on your character. So his tragic destiny was bound to happen and no one could save him.

We sometimes should accept the tragedy or the reality even though the determined love is impressive and we wish stories have a happy ending.

if it has a happy ending, it may not become an influenced novel.
