I’ve been reading a book named Anne Frank. The writer, a fourteen-year-old girl wrote down the hiding life during the war. Actually I’m not very interested in this content but I’m very curious about the writer. She is just a fourteen-year -old girl but she seems to be older and more mature after reading her words.

What she writes really greatly surprises me. When she complains about her mom in her diary, she even expects her mom to be dead. But what she writes is to keep a secret in her heart. Faced with her mom, she becomes a naughty daughter again.

One part is about friendship and love. In this book, you can see how hard she has a crush on peter, especially when she doesn’t know if peter has a feeling for her. During the days, she can’t control herself to see peter and talk to him. At night, she often has a dream of peter who is close to her. In this part, she tells us how she is feeling when she falls in love with peter secretly. I believe what she says can make you feel the same way. Luckily, she finds peter is falling in love with her too. She is a little unbelievable in the beginning and then feels extremely happy. What they do is just to hug and to kiss. At this moment, she begins to think about if it’s right to meet peter in person. And she talks with peter about her worries. They agree to tell Anne’s father about their relationship.

Her father says, “ In matters like these, it’s always to the man to take active role, and it’s the woman to set limits.” This father is not against their friendship but reminds her daughter not to be crazy about him. In their eyes, peter is a decent and good boy. As her father says, peter can be easily influenced to do good, but also to do bad.

However, her dad’s advice can’t be accepted by her. In order to express herself, she writes to her father what she is thinking and opinions. This letter really hurts her dad a lot.

In the following days, Anne is beginning to find this peter is not what she dreams of. Then she starts to understand what she loves is the boy in her dream, an imaginary person. She knows peter has various faults and shortcomings like her. So peter is not as attractive as before. As time goes by, she realizes when they are free and come to school again, she may meet a lot of boys and peter may see many girls too. At this hiding place, they live together and love each other, but she knows she won’t marry peter in the future.

During the hiding days, even though Anne can’t get to school, she continues to study by herself. While she is short of food, she doesn’t give up buying books in the black market. Because of reading a lot of books, she appears to be more mature than her age girls. In addition, she knows what she wants to be a journalist some day when she has freedom. In 1994, Anne has a better understanding of the independence. As she writes: “Laziness may look inviting, but only work gives you true satisfaction. “

Such a little girl in 1994 can give us a lot of advice. That gives me a big surprise after finishing it.
