Turn back On 'Brother Sharp' phenomenon

A photo of a Chinese beggar walking in the street quickly sparked heated discussion since its first appearance on Jan 30. The beggar "Brother Sharp" was claimed the most stylish beggar by netizens. He became more and more famous, not only home, but abroad. Many people paid attention to the stylish beggar, and compared him with many stylish hot stars worldwide.

Especially, Brother Sharp's dress sense has caught the attention of the pampered post-90s. They crazily pursue him to get spiritual fulfillment. What's wrong with our appreciation of beauty? Does he really look attractive? He's merely a poor yet lonely guy with known background behind!
However, a worker at the Ningbo homeless center said that his colleagues contacted Brother Sharp on several occasions to offer him shelter, but had been refused. Declining to reveal the identity of Brother Sharp, the worker said: "Homeless people are vulnerable. It is incorrect to use them for entertainment purposes."

"Brother Sharp" was afraid of so many people being around him and he did not understand why they kept "visiting" and taking his picture, murmuring  "Cat". He shed tears and yelled at the heavens when being offered help by the shelter.
Watching tears from such a popular figure on the Internet, lots of netizens expressed sorrow about his situation. They hope officers do not "cage this free bird" and other curious people demand, "please don't mess with his peaceful life!"

If we really feel obliged to offer help with truthfulness, pay the basic human respect first. With such premise, the network platform can serve the purpose in a benign circle.

Such phenomenon happen frequently in this Networked Age, such as “Shou Shou Gate”, “Sister Feng”. It’s abnormal. As Mr Luxun said, Chinese people enjoy “Cou Re Nao” which drives peope’s curiousity to spread low culture. We all should take time for a profound self-examination.

How far can this “starlike” beggar go? I don’t really know.  Maybe another phenomenon will come into being after this great mass fervour.  I just hope that people show more respect and would lend a sincere helping hand to vulnerable groups around us, rather than amusement. Thus, our society can sustain a healthy development in both material and spiritual wealth.

Miss L, u got a point from a different angle. Personally, something valuable about network includs meeting her...I don't reject new culture, for we  say “Existence is Rational”. Any phenomenon is double-edged knife depending on how we make use of. So i'd  analyse reason first then do what i can. Good things never fade, I believe in the progress of the times, and we're going along with individual effort. We have witnessed it in Yushu earthquake, don't we?
