Recently I watched Word Power, a programme on Hello Channel on YueTube.com. Ms. Ruth, a teacher, teaches us English new words in English. Her teaching method is interesting and special. To begin with, she teaches us the pronunciation of a word. Secondly she explains the meaning of the word in English. Lastly she makes two sentences with the word.

My general method of learning new English words is are:

First of all, I read the word. Next I learn the Chinese meaning of the word. Finally I make two sentences with the word.

The difference between them is the meaning of the words: one is English meaning, the other is Chinese meaning. The English meaning accurately explains the words’ meaning.

I use two Electronic dictionaries: one is Youdao and the other is Yunci. I found Yunci very useful to learn English words. I have installed Yunci into my smart phone, I can learn English words at any where and anytime.
