I am always used to listening during the whole oral English class,and although I know it's no use improving my oral English,I just don't know what to say about this course.Unlike former oral English teacher,he just wanted us to ask more questions,and did not find something for us.As he put it,"I don't want to make you study something,instead,you just have to learn yourself,that is,speaking in class."He doesn't take it as his responsibility to teach us,because it's our own business to choose to study or not,not his.He doesn't like to force us to study,but the one who talks in class can learn.Maybe this is the difference between American teachers and Chinese teachers.To some extent,I can understand him,but what I cannot understand is that he said the only task for a teacher was to teach knowledge,for other things,such as character building,it's the parents' responsibilities.I do not agree with him,because the man with only knowledge is nothing!
At the same time,I tend to think the importance of curiosity in learning.I just thought that I was always busy with studying,sitting in the classroom all day,and seldom came up with some questions.But this seemed to be one of my advantages before,however,somehow,now I am losing it.I need to pick it up!

- I had the same problem that I didn't speak much during the course, but I thought it's ok becuase the whole point of speaking is not to speak but to say something meaningful, and I'd rather shut up and listen before I am able to contribute useful stuff.. ~

- The teacher indeed should shouler more responsibilities : imparting knowledge , cultivating students' characteristics and so on, but you cannot just rely on the teachers to do all these stuff. as for college students, you also have the obligations to be responsible for yourself.~~~

- jxzcs223: Recently my target is expand my vocabulary. a hard way .yeah,it's really hard to enlarge one's vocabulary in a short time,but remember that Rome was not built in one day.Keep working and you will make it!Good luck!Actually I am doing this kind of thing,too~
