We will soon meet our Oral English Final Exam next Tuesday,and what we need to do is prepare a speech within two minutes about any of the 16 topics we have talked about in the class this term,which also needs to include the following words:measure,habits,holidays,pleasure,enjoyable,university,culture,basic,dormitory,vocal,lasting,compete,vacation,silence,

sorrow,future,government,religion society and farewell,and write another summary about our opinions of this class.The teacher will give his marks according to our grammar,diction and pronunciation.I wrote the speech entitled My University Life and hope all of you can correct it for me to make it better.Any suggestion is welcome.Thank you!

Good morning,everyone!It's my great honor to stand here and give you a speech.Since we have discussed the topic Education before,today I 'd like to say something about my university life.

First,I'd like to say what I had imagined before I entered Xiangtan University.At that time,it was a mystery to me,but I believed in this ivory tower,I could make all of my dreams come true.I would study extremely hard,acquiring a solid basic knowledge of English and other subjects,to be a knowledgeable and cultured girl.I would be active in many communities or students council.On top of it,instead of choosing silence,I would also take part time jobs during holidays or vacations,for I knew ability was Greek to me but was critical in today's society.Thirdly,I would pay special attention to my character building,because I think a truly successful person is who not only has a good knowledge,but also with good habits.Besides,I would work out everyday to stay healthy to strengthen the foundation to achieve all my ambitions.All in all,life I expected in university would be a pleasure to me.

Now, a year is drawing to a close.I measured myself clearly again,discovering that I have experienced and grew a lot.Many of my plans have almost or already be accomplished,and it's really enjoyable to learn about a different culture.I did as what I had expected and enjoyed my university life,grateful to all my classmates,especially my roommates in my dormitory,whom I can truly share my happiness and sorrows with.As for my future,I have also found my direction.Not interested in government affairs ,I will try to be an intepreter.Still with a long way to go,I will compete with myself to make a religion of doing more vocal communications in English.

Success results from great and lasting efforts,so,friends,let's work together to make our university life much more colorful and satisfied.That's all my speech today,and thank you for listening!Farewell to all of you!
